Cooking party is a great way to entertain kids and a nice theme for a birthday party.

All children love cooking and eating the creations they have cooked by themselves. All boys and girls will enjoy the idea of becoming chefs for a day. You can give all the kids a hat and apron  and allow them to improve their cooking skills.

1. Make a party to do list for your Cooking party. It wil be very helpful and let you know what should be prepared two weeks before the day, one week, two days before and a day before the party.

2. Write the step by step directions of the actual party.

3. Create interesting recipes for the cooking party.

4. Print off a recipe cards, give them to each child. They can put it in their goody bag and look at it while cooking their dishes.

5. Complete a list of items necessary for the cooking party. Determine the number of children coming and find out how many utensils you should prepare: bowls, cutting boards, etc.

1. Don't do too much: choose one main dish and one dessert. There shouldn't be more that 3 dishes.

2. Depending on the number of children, ask one or two friends to help you prepare everything for a party.

3. Choose an adult who will cook the recipe in the oven or stove and then ask the kids to do the actual preparing.

4. Create a simple chef hat for each child to make the party atmosphere.

5. Buy a canvas apron which can be decorated with fabric paint. Look for the plain or colored aprons at oriental trading company or if you can sew, you can make aprons for each child by yourself.

6. While the party food is cooking you can ask the children to decorate their aprons or play some cooking games.

7. Make a recipe card which will include the recipe which they are making. Children can look at it while cooking. You can also write the recipe out on a large chalkboard or paper hanging on the wall. Make one for each child so that he or she could take it home.
