Elmo Party

Goodie Bags and Prizes:
Take a plastic pail and fill it with Elmo stickers, a small Elmo figure or bean bag, mini cans of red and orange playdoh along with a fish and duck shaped cookie cutter, put a small box of crayons, small pack of Goldfish crackers, gummi fish.

Prizes for the party attendants can be: wooden abc blocks, magnetic abc's or numbers, foam letters and numbers, large boxes of crayons, Elmo coloring books or books, foam abc or number puzzles.

Party Games and Activities:
1. Pin the nose on Elmo. You can look for the poster online or draw it by yourself on the posterboard: make a nose from orange circles (take orange fun foam or card stock). Then write the name of each child on the noses before they pin.

2. Take an Elmo decorated paper plate and attach it to a wooden paint stirrer. Blow up some red balloons and ask the children to try to keep the balloon from touching the ground.

3. Elmo says ( the same as Simon says)

4. The duck pond game ( the principle of the game is the same as in the Rubber Ducky theme).

5. Propose kids to play Mr. Noodles's Limbo. Place a foam pool noodle and ask the kids to go under in this silly version.

6. Read together a book, "Elmo Shake a Leg". Then ask the children to act out the story.

7. Various multicolored foam beads or Froot Loops and Cheerios can be strung on the yarn.

8. Arrange an Alphabet Hunt. For this purpose you can use a large foam ABC puzzle. Hide the parts of puzzle and ask the children to find them and bring the puzzle back together. Use small ABC foam puzzles as prizes for the participants of the game.

9. Give the children Elmo coloring pages and ask the children to color them using the small boxes of crayons.

elmo_party_2Because this theme party is more appealing to the preschool kids it is necessary to provide the children with free play centers.

10. Playdoh center. Choose an area and place mini cans of palydoh, a large assortment of cookie cutters, rolling pins there. You can use large cookie sheets and magnetic letters, numbers and geometric shapes. Then ask the kids to attach the magnets to the cookie sheets.

Also you can tape large sheets of butcher paper to the table and ask the children to color them.
