Games & Activities Take a Trip Underwater If you have enough time you can take your guests on a trip to your local aquarium where they can explore the everyday life under the sea. There you will be offered various tours and programs for children. Perhaps your guests will be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Nemo!
Octopus Tag The birthday child begins as the Octopus in the middle of a large playing area. All other players are Fish, their aim is to manage to run past the Octopus to the other side of the playing area. If the Octopus tags a Fish, he or she holds hands with the Octopus and become a tentacle to help tag more fish. The last Fish alive is the winner of the game.
Fish, Fish, Shark The principle of this game is based on the traditional “Duck, Duck, Goose” game, but in this case, instead of a goose chasing a duck, a shark chases a fish. First of all you should ask your little fishes to seat in a circle. Choose a leader, he or she should walk around the circle, tapping guests on the head and calling each person a fish. After several guests have been tapped, the leader chooses one guest and yells out “Shark” when tapping him or her on the head. The Shark chases the leader and tries to tag her as she races around the circle and back to the Shark’s spot. If the Shark catches the leader then he or she remains a leader another round. If the leader escapes the Shark, the Shark becomes the new leader. The game should be repeated until every guest has a chance to be the leader.
Fish for a Name Tag You should make a fish-shaped name tag for each guest. For this purpose you can use thick, colorful paper. Each tag should be decorated with markers. Then you should attach a paper clip to the mouth of each fish. All the fish should be placed in an empty pool for kids or decorated box. When your guests arrive, give each one a fishing pole (sturdy stick with a yarn “line” and a magnet “hook”). When a fish is “caught,” write the child’s name on it or give them the name of their favorite sea creature. Food & Cake Ideas At this party you can serve Goldfishtm, submarine sandwiches or sandwiches cut with fish cookie cutters, Doletm Pineapple Fish (they are pre-cut in the can), fish fruit snacks, and sunken treasure nuggets (cheese balls.)
Serve a cute Fish Birthday Cake.
Serve snacks such as pretzels, chips and fruit in Beach Pail & Shovels or Clam Shell Bowls.
