While planning this theme party it is very important to evoke this theme throughout the affair. It doesn’t matter whether you are planning something general or specific occasion it should be the subtle thread that ties everything together. Your location, invitations, flowers, menu, cake, and favors should all cleverly reflect one common concept. Try to use your imagination and be creative.
Location: The location which is ideal for a bottom of the sea event can be an Aquarium or you could charter a yacht. If you live in Houston there are several places where you can hold your party: Moody Gardens, Houston Zoo & Aquariums or the Aquarium Downtown.
If it is impossible to arrange the party in an Aquarium you should start by covering a wall with a Coral Reef Scene Setter or Dolphin's Paradise Mural.
Slogans: Once the theme for the party has been chosen you should think of the slogan which will be used in the invitations. Here are several examples of slogans which can help you pick up the ideal slogan for the party or make up your own slogan which can suit your precious child perfectly. * "Under the Sea Adventure!” * “Birthday Enchantment Under the Sea…Mermaids, Dolphins, and Brittany!” * “Have a Whale of a Time at Jon’s Birthday!” * “Take the Plunge!” Decorating the party location 1. You can welcome your guests with a spray of bubbles.
2. Try to bring the ocean inside your ballroom or banquet room by using a color scheme of aqua, violet and green.
3. Decorate the wall and ceiling with hanging sheer panels and ask your local lighting company project a moving bubble effect on the surfaces. This is used to produce the constant sense of movement, almost like being underwater.
4. You can achieve the right feeling by covering the tables with themed tablecloths. Ten tables covered with a Fish Pattern, Seashell Pattern, a blue, green & yellow ocean pattern or aqua satin will transform your event location into an under the sea fantasy.
5. Another alternative is to cover your tables with a Coral Reef Tablecover.
6. Create a stunning Ocean Entryway. Use the same technique as used to make a standing Balloon Column, but instead of standing the column up it should be attached to fishing line or PVC pipe which has been secured about 2 feet off the ground.
Take white 260 balloons (the long ones used for balloon twisting) and attach them to the ocean floor that you have created. Float helium filled Mylar ocean creature balloons above the sea.
