Everyone loves water parks, their rides, the fun, the food, the sun, the expense... but there are a few things which you probably don't love about water parks. That is a great expense to get in and the fact that a plain hot dog and a small drink wil cost you $7 apiece.
However it is also possible to bring the entertainment to your own backyard in summer. Of course, you don't have time to get a wave pool going through your yard or build a two-story water slide. But if you use a little creativity you can arrange exciting and memorable backyard party which will also save your money.
 Planning a Water Park Party
You need to begin party preparations at least two months in advance. This time is enough for you to buy all necessary supplies, for delivery time for any items which have been ordered.
You will also have time to send the invitations and receive responses. You should try to make creative invitations, including "VIP passes" or "Family passes" to your water park and a list of "attractions." You should also involve your family members in the project. Your kids can add a personal touch using water-themed stickers and stamps. An assembly line for addressing, closing and stamping envelopes can be also set up.
All the Fun Without the Lines for Activities
People can become very creative even with just a water hose and a sprinkler. To create a miniature water park in your backyard you need to add a couple of wading pools, a Slip-n-Slide, and a cache of water balloons and water guns. In this park kids can run, splash around and have water fights and there is no need to spend a lot of time waiting in line for rides or getting yelled at to slow down. It is also necessary to consider the age groups which you are going to invite. Depending on your crowd you can also install separate wading pool stations for toddlers and let the older kids have run of the rest of the yard. It is a great way to avoid inevitable mishaps with younger tag-alongs getting underfoot in the older siblings area.
Different team games and events are also important to set the mood. You can assign fun names to the teams like Pirates and Swashbucklers.
