Recommended for kids aged 7-9 Firemen and women have always been big heroes to little boys and girls. Firehouse theme is always a hit - and it's a great way to educate children on fire safety and have fun at the same time. For a super special day, ask a local fireman to attend the party dressed in uniform to talk to the kids about fire safety - or better yet, arrange a tour of the local firehouse.
Party Favors:
Fireman stickers or coloring books, red flashing safety lights for jackets or bikes (little clip-on battery operated ones), toy fire trucks, computer generated Certified Fire Fighter certificates.
Decorating Ideas:
• Lay out garden hoses, inside or outside. • Decorate front of house with ladders. • Make fire hydrant cut-outs from yellow or red construction paper. • Put out anything with Dalmations... stuffed animals, books, etc. • Use a toy fire truck for the table centerpiece and attach balloons to the ladder.
Activity Ideas:
• Arrange a tour of your local fire station. • If weather permits, have kids go outside and see who can spray the garden hose the furthest distance to "put out a fire". • Set up a fireman obstacle course - carry a hose up the stairs, rescue the family cat (use a stuffed animal) from a bedroom and carry it outside to finish line. • Play stop, drop and roll tag! After you are tagged, you have to stop drop and roll to put the fire out. • Pin the "spot" or "tail" on a Dalmation.
