Kids' Pool Party

Want to make a splash for your child's birthday party this year? The birthday girl or boy will love the swimming, water bombs and foam noodles. So, why not turn your back yard into a wet and wild water park? It's easy. You'll love how little there is to clean up.

Party Favors:

Sun screen, bath bubbles or toys, sunglasses, flip flops, Life Savers candies (regular or gummy), snorkel and mask, small inflatable beach balls.

Decorating Ideas:

• Host your party around the pool, on the patio or deck.
Fill a large, cooler with ice to cool soda or juice.
Turn your backyard into a fancy beach side resort by arranging chairs in pairs and draping colorful towels over the backs or sides.
Tie colorful balloons to the pool fence if you have one, or along your deck railing.
Fill the pool with inner tubes, foam noodles, beach balls or rafts.
Serve food on clean frisbees, veggies in beach buckets and use a beach shovel to scoop ice for drinks.

Activity Ideas:

Play Marco Polo or water tag.
Swimming relays are lots of fun.
Play hot potato with water-filled balloons.
Have a couple of underwater disposable cameras for kids to capture every goofy moment.
Organize an underwater Treasure Hunt: Simply drop little weighted items such as hockey pucks, golf balls, rubber rings etc. into the bottom of the pool. Be sure to have masks and goggles on hand for the kids to use - whichever team collects the most stuff, wins a special prize.
