Icebreakers Icebreakers are quick and easy Christmas games for adults. The main aim of this game is to help guests get to know each other better. One game which gives the oportunity for guests to talk to each other is the people scavenger hunt. Instead of looking for objects on a list, they are looking for people who can answer yes to a particular Christmas-related statement like, "Has gone caroling." You can print the list or create your own list of facts based on the information about your guests. Pictionary and Charades The rules of these games require the guests to communicate an idea without words. If it is Pictionary, they should draw the idea and in case of Charades, they must act out the word, phrase, or title. If you are planning a Christmas party, make up a list of Christmas related words, Christmas movies, and Christmas carols and ask the guests to guess them. It is also great to play these games in teams where the whole party visitors are involved in fun. What's in the Stocking? Take a stocking or a thick winter sock and fill it with Christmas-related items and seal the top. Then your guests should guess the stuff in the stocking by feeling it. You can set a time limit, or leave the stocking out for guests to play at their leisure. The person who guesses the most hidden objects wins the game.
Gift Exchange If you plan to exchange gifts at your party this event can be easily turned into a game. Very popular is a white elephant exchange. Each guest should bring a "white elephant" gift, a gift that is pointless, kitschy, unwieldy, or otherwise undesirable. After that people who brought gifts draw a number to determine the selection order. When it is your turn, unwrap a gift from the pile, or take a present which has been opened by another person. The other variation of this game is that you can choose to not unwrap any of the gifts until the end of the exchange. This will add mystery and luck. Involve the plotting and friendly theft in the exchange. Another game which involves fun gift exchange is the left/right game. Everyone should sit in a circle holding a gift. Someone reads a Christmas-themed story which contains the words "left and "right" repeated several times. Every time the guests hear "left" in the story, they pass the gifts to the left; every time they hear the word "right", they pass them to the right. At the end of the game you should unwrap the gift which you are holding. Kids' Games Kids' games can be also very interestin and fun if presented with the right attitude. You should know the preferences of your guests, the nostalgia factor and the sense of being able to cut loose and act like a kid for a moment. A game of "Pin the Nose on Rudolph" or a Christmas piñata can become a great addition to your party.
